The John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act 2019 (NDAA) is a United States federal law signed on August 13, 2018 that prohibits the government from making purchases of telecommunications and surveillance services or equipment from specific companies in China.
This NDAA ban prohibits telecommunications and video surveillance equipment developed by Huawei Technologies Company or by the ZTE Corporation, Hytera Communications Corporation, Hikvision Digital Technology Company, or Dahua Technology Company.
